About Owen
From a young age, Owen’s love of all things pop culture led to a passion for cosplay and prop making which grows more every day. With some help from his parents he made a costume for his first con at age 11 and has not stopped creating since.
His main focus is on fabrication with EVA foam, but he also has experience working with insulation foam, sculpting clay maquettes, and is proficient with a sewing machine.
Mold making and casting in various materials has been a long interest, including building a home vacuum former and a backyard furnace for melting aluminum.
Owen eventually caught the eye of other local cosplayers and joined the Paladins of Cosplay where he is now a co-leader. With the Paladins he’s been on Adam Savage’s Tested, and in the New York Times. He and the Paladins also spend a lot of time helping the cosplay community by running the cosplay repair booths at local cons such as New York Comic Con, Anime NYC, and Tineecon. He can sometimes be found taking part in convention panels or helping run beginning costume talks at local libraries.
Owen is based in the NYC area of New Jersey and is on Instagram as WellRustedWorkshop.
